Hi, I’m Evelyn Jadin.
Welcome! Serving as a spiritual director is a great joy, as I have a passion for accompanying people as they deepen their spirituality and their relationship with the divine. I have 21 years of experience accompanying people of various faiths and no-faiths on their spiritual journeys. As a recorded Quaker Minister, (ordained) I have served a variety of Quaker organizations, including two Quaker Meetings (churches), Guilford College as a chaplain, and School of the Spirit Ministry’s “On Being a Spiritual Nurturer Program” as a teacher and program coordinator. In addition to spiritual direction, I have also served as a pediatric hospice chaplain.
I have facilitated space for people to use expressive arts for spiritual reflection for 12 years. I completed training in Expressive Arts in Spiritual Direction in November 2019 and have loved integrating these skills into my work as a spiritual director and companion.
I am married to my wonderful wife Mary. We live in the mountains of North Carolina with our two dogs Chaco and Tuna and three cats Pesto, Jezebel, and Millie. Quilting is my favorite hobby, closely followed by floating in a canoe or kayak, gardening and traveling with my wife in our used Airstream trailer.
My Approach
Spiritual Direction is a time for you to explore what is on your heart through a spiritual lens. My role is to hold space for you to explore and discover your inner wisdom.
Non-Directive
You bring what is most on your heart to spiritual direction. My role is to hold space for you, offer reflections, and ask questions. In this way, you will hopefully deepen your understanding and inner wisdom.
Contemplative
Each spiritual direction session is grounded in contemplative practice. We will begin and end each session with a contemplative spiritual practice, and throughout the session, there will likely be times of silence to create space for deeper reflection.
